Student Orientation The Placement & Training Department believes that success has to begin first with oneself. The objective of the P&T Department is to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the students and accordingly orient them in the right direction.

Our focus is to ensure that the skill sets are fully utilized by conducting rigorous counselling sessions on a one-to-one basis. These sessions help students deal with their weaknesses in an effective manner. Students are put through a series of psychometric, technical and communication tests to match industry standards.

Student orientation is an effort to generate quality engineers with proper skill sets so that they are transformed into responsible, enthusiastic and confident individuals to face the challenges of the corporate world.

Industry InteractionThe P&T Department has a very strong network of companies that regularly visit the campus. The P&T dept. interacts with various industries in order to realize the changing trends and prepare students accordingly. Profiles of the students are compiled based on industry requirements and records are maintained and made readily available to the companies as and when the requirement arises.

The department has been instrumental in tie-ups with companies like TCS for the Campus Connect Programmes; Wipro Workforce Development programmes etc.., to carry forward the academic activities.

Pre-placement Training: To enable the student to appreciate the importance of teamwork and to assist in understanding the nuances of corporate grooming & dressing, corporate etiquette and the ethical dilemmas present in business, soft skills and leadership training programmes are being held at AIT.

Students are trained to develop the necessary skill sets to handle interviews in the best manner possible. Industry-related technical workshops are being organized to ensure a better strike rate in placements.

Placement &Training Related Activities: A dedicated team of training professionals carries out various activities which aim at helping students to handle the challenges of the corporate world.

The activities that are being carried out are:

• Visiting the companies for requirements and industry tie-ups
• Organizing On-Campus & Off-Campus Recruitment Programmes.
• Organizing Soft-skills and Technical skills training programs to match industry standards.
• Rolling out Pre-Induction Training programs for MNCs at the AIT campus.
• Alumni Interaction and Mentoring
• Obtaining feedback from the industry on students’ performance and accordingly identifying training needs.
• Career Guidance & Counseling.

Recruitment & Placement: The P&T Department of AIT is not just responsible for the training and development of students but also for presenting them with suitable opportunities. The department is largely responsible for bringing corporations to the campus and conducting campus placements.

All activities related to recruitment from inviting MNCs and blue chip companies to organizing interview facilities, etc., are all handled by the department.

Pooled campus recruitment programs are being organized at a large scale and students from other engineering colleges are also invited to participate in the recruitment programs.

The P&T department sends intimation to the students well in advance about the campus activity so that they are prepared to face the tests/interviews. Students are put through a series of mock tests and counseling sessions before attending the interviews.
