Sports Infrastructure
The Physical Education Department of AIT possesses adequate infrastructure and facilities for conducting physical activities, yoga, indoor and outdoor games, and sports events. The department is equipped with facilities such as a gymnasium, yoga centre, seminar hall and open-air auditorium to support sports and extracurricular activities.
The institute encourages students to actively participate in sports and extracurricular activities as an essential component of holistic education. Participation in sports activities plays a significant role in the overall personality development of students and motivates them to remain physically active and disciplined. The institute provides ample amenities and infrastructure for various sports and games activities. The total area allocated for sports fields is approximately 20234.3 sqr. mtrs. Since the inception of the college, sports and cultural activities have been conducted regularly. The gymnasium facility for students was established in the year 1985.
Adequate infrastructure facilities are available for both indoor and outdoor sports such as athletics, ball badminton, volleyball, basketball, football, netball, cricket, kabaddi, throw ball, handball, badminton, table tennis, and chess. Sports and games competitions are organized regularly every year at both inter-departmental and intercollegiate levels.
Students are systematically trained and coached to participate in university, state, and national-level competitions, including National Youth Festival events organized by universities. Students also participate in various intercollegiate sports and games competitions conducted outside the campus and have secured prizes, awards, and accolades in both individual and team events.
Special self-defence training programs are organized particularly for female students. In addition, special coaching sessions are conducted for various sports and games activities. Every year, the Department of Physical Education organizes intercollegiate sports events and training programs for inter-university competitions.
Students who excel in inter-university competitions are recognized and rewarded with cash prizes and mementos by the institute. The institute also provides facilities for gymnasium activities, yoga, and meditation to promote physical fitness and mental well-being among students.
