Hostel Life

Hostel life is when you can live your life to the fullest. So, hostel life is always fun to experience, and also you get to learn things that will help you in the future. We can’t get those times back once we get out of college life.

Goal

At AIT Hostels we focus to provide a conducive and homely environment for the students to stay, study and imbibe the art of living among their own peers in a harmonious manner.

Description of Hostel Block and Mess Halls

  • All students are provided with essential furniture. All rooms are provided with good ventilation and lighting. Basic amenities like bathrooms and restrooms are constructed on each floor of the hostel blocks. Hot water is supplied through a geyser or solar heater arrangement. Emergency Generator supplies are also provided in case of power failures. There are standby diesel-generated sets in the main substation, which supply power during long power interruptions.
  • Mess Halls/ Kitchen: Separate mess halls are provided for gents as well as ladies. Each mess hall is provided with a well-equipped and mechanized kitchen. The menu, varies from day to day and vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods are prepared separately, and the menu is revised once a semester and the food served is predominantly South Indian.

Sports & Gymnasium

Residents of the hostel are encouraged to take part in sports as excellent outdoor and indoor game facilities are provided on campus. Well-equipped gym center, as well as a library and many other facilities, are available on campus.

Parking

More than 500 parking lots are available on the west side of the campus. The parking is available 24 hours with CCTV Coverage and a round clock campus security.

  • Well equipped rooms for single /double/three sharing occupancy.
  • Furniture is provided for each inmate with one cot, chair, Amirah and reading table.
  • Newspapers and magazines are provided to the boarders in the hostel.
  • Free Wi-Fi Facility.
  • Hot water/geyser facility.
  • RO drinking water.
  • Library facility available to the boarders.
  • Transportation facility is provided to the boarders.
  • CCTV Camera surveillance round the clock in all hostel blocks.
  • Health Care: Hostel office maintains a first aid kit and is accessible round the clock. A campus van for an emergency is stationed near the hostel premises.
  • Washing Arrangements: One each Laundromat facility is provided for gents and ladies hostel blocks separately. The service provider who operates the facility is also giving an ironing facility.

Governance

  • Day-to-day affairs of the hostels are managed by the Warden supported by the office staff.
  • The hostels have well defined rules and regulations published in another link of these pages. The students are expected to be conversant with these rules and follow the same strictly.
  • A Welfare Committee is constituted at the beginning of the academic year with representatives from the students as well as the Management. The Committee meets once every month and makes suggestions for improving the quality of life in the hostel.
  • Dean ( Student Welfare) will be invited to all meetings and reps of Maintenance Departments will be requested to attend on a required basis.
