SOCIO-ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED GROUPS CELL (SEDG)

In accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), and Government regulations for promoting equity and inclusion in higher education, the Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG) Cell of AIT Chikkamagaluru is constituted for a period of three years. The Cell is established to support students belonging to socially and economically disadvantaged sections by ensuring equal access, participation, opportunities, and academic support within the institution.

The SEDG Cell works towards creating an inclusive, equitable, supportive, and discrimination-free educational environment for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. The Cell undertakes welfare, guidance, counselling, awareness, and support initiatives to improve academic participation, retention, well-being, and holistic development of students belonging to socio-economically disadvantaged groups.
